just got the canon 10-22 a couple of days ago. it's been pouring so hard for 2 days, i finally got a chance to get outside this morning, so i ran down to the rr tracks near my house to try it out. this is pretty much straight out of the camera.
ya' know three years ago, people would ask me "do you want a boy or girl?". i would say " i don't care as long he or she is healthy." psssst, don't tell any one, but i'm kinda' glad we had a boy. he has the best toys ever;)- except when you step on a 1970 dodge charger hot-rod, in the middle of the night oooooouch!!!;)-

built in 1902 in the shadow of mount washington. a true grand hotel, huge and luxurious.
we were invited to a winter wedding in this hotel a few years ago. when we arrived, we were surprised to see workmen on the roof working in subzero temperatures. we soon found out that during the night, the wind had ripped a large section ot the metal roof right off the building.

Just a very funny little boy chasing geese (his expression really was hilarious). He was SO funny, I had to snap a photo or two.
I didn't wash up the dishes from Thursday evening [because we ate very late].
I didn't wash up the dishes yesterday all day because I simply did not enter the kitchen, mainly because I was out pretty much all day (supermarket and working in the evening til late)
So I had a bit of a surprise this morning when I found a massive pile of dirty dishes waiting for me to bathe them. Seemingly they all piled up throughout the days.
I don't usually have to wash up on the weekend [my brother and I alternate, I do Tues-Thurs, he does Fri-Monday, mainly cos on weekdays I'm usually in, and weekends there aren't as many dishes. Plus I cook!]
But considering how I didn't wash up Thursdays and Friday's added on top of it, I guess it doesn't take a genius to work out it's my turn to wash up...
But I don't mind. Because I just listen to music. And when I listen to music, everything is ok.
PS: clocks go back tonight! Well here in the UK! woohoo! An extra hour in bed!

Niñas Hmong Saludando
Estamos en el penúltimo o último día en Sa Pa y estas niñas parecía que nos perseguian.
El día anterior nos habian seguido por todo el pueblo a ver si les compramos algo, al final les dijimos que les dabamos una propina si nos dejaban hacer una foto con ellas y Raquel les compro unos pendientes. (Eso a la niña de la derecha, la que tiene cara de pilla).
Al día siguiente lo mismo, otra vez tuvimos que hacer lo de la propina y la foto. Luego, en un mercado, Raquel me dejo un momento solo y una de un mercado ya me lio para que le comprara unos bolsos.
Al rato, nos ven estan niñas, y, hablando en ingles, super enfadadas, que habiamos comprado un bolso por ahi y a ellas no, asi que a comprarles un bolso a ellas y foto al canto.
La verdad es que eran super majas y super listas.

Currently staying over my sister's place in Bristol for the next day and a half. Came earlier today and been faffing about waiting for the cakes to be ready.
Then I've spent the last few hours shooting wedding cakes, ready for her new business-website....! I've forgotten how much I love food photography :)
Lots of cakes! Lots of snappage! Constant strobes being set off!
But no cakes to eat :(
Outside the Parliament in Budapest: a veteran of the 1956 uprising holds up a book with his own picture.
The riot fence on the left keeps the protesters away from the politicians. The white-and-red sticker says "Elkurtuk", "we screwed up": that's from prime minister Gyurcsany's speech that was leaked last month and caused all this commotion.

after my 770sw leaked, (and messed up a bunch of really cool snorkeling shots), i sent it off to olympus. it was still under warantee. they did fix it promptly. but now i'm not snorkeling. dammit.
this one's a grackle, but he brought the cowbirds and redwings with him.
i heard them before i saw them this morning. i looked out the window, and startled them, sending a black flock flying towards the trees.
i consider this the first day of spring.
I wanted to shoot the daily offering to the buddhist monks with a different angle as directly shooting a monk is rude and not allowed usually.
The interesting thing about this village was that their religion was not Buddhist but a village spirit belief. They are offering food to the buddhist monks just to be sure!
